CLEVELAND -- After Ariel Castro's sentencing, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Tim McGinty said the plan was to raze the house as soon as possible.
Not only is the house at 2207 Seymour Avenue condemned, it represents the horrors the three survivors faced for ten years.
Two local companies are doing the demo work for free.
The house was obtained by the Cuyahoga County Land Bank last week, and the county is working on taking over the two vacant properties on the west of Castro's house as well.
Demolition will begin early Wednesday morning. Sources say the other two vacant homes will likely come down in a month, opening up space for landscaping or a community betterment project.
On Monday, city leaders met to discuss the next step.
Whatever will be put in place of the so-called "house of horrors" will be within consideration and respect of Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight.
