EAST CLEVELAND -- East Cleveland Mayor Gary Norton said the city is considering charges against Cleveland officers involved in the deadly police chase and shooting last November.
Norton said after the incident he asked the city's law director to take a closer look and determine if there were appropriate charges.
"The request was rooted in the belief that the community must know, was what happened in our city lawful?" Norton said.
Norton added some of the charges being considered are negligent homicide, reckless endangerment and discharging firearms in city limits.
According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor, there is still no determination on criminal charges. The case is under evaluation.
Norton said he is watching that process closely to determine East Cleveland's next step.
