When a stretch of warm weather sets up for several days after we've had a killing frost, it is referred to as Indian Summer.
We will be having our Indian Summer this week as a very mild weather pattern brings us temperatures in the 70s.
But remember, with weather often an extreme in one direction can bring about an extreme in the other direction. So, just about the time we are really getting used to 70s in late October, reality swings in on a major cold front.
The exact timing will become clearer this week as it gets closer, but next weekend we are going to have just such a front passing through. It appears we'll be wrapping up the month of October on a very, very different note.
Stay tuned.
Tonight: Showers gradually ending from west to east. Mostly cloudy skies east, with partly cloudy skies west and south. Low 40s
Sunday: A few clouds early, then mostly sunny skies. Upper 50s/low 60s
Monday: Mostly sunny. Clouds with scattered rain (maybe thunder) come back Monday night. Low 70s
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with scattered rain chances. Low 70s
Wednesday: Early shower chances, then partly cloudy and warm. Low/mid 70s
Thursday: Partly cloudy early with isolated rain later in the day. Low/mid 70s
Friday: Partly sunny with scattered rain and thunder later in the day. Upper 60s
Saturday: Cloudy with rain and some thunder. Windy. Temps start in the 60s and fall into the 50s. (A second surge of colder air will arrive Sunday - not sure if it will be early or late - and spark the major changes expected.)
