BEACHWOOD -- The Justice for Aliza campaign invites all women to join them at noon Sunday (July 28) for a Self-Defense Class in honor of Aliza Sherman, whose life was tragically cut short after she was brutally murdered in downtown Cleveland.
The class is intended to promote safety for women in the community. The training will provide women with the necessary tools to protect themselves and to prevent a tragedy like this from happening in the future.
The class will be taught by Master Gary Yano, 8th Degree Black Belt and State of Ohio Police Defense Certified Instructor, in conjunction with Partners To Empowerment Wellness Center.
The Self-Defense Class will be held in the Fairmount-Richmond Room at the Beachwood Community Center, 25325 Fairmount Boulevard in Beachwood.
Participants are asked to wear their JUSTICE FOR ALIZA t-shirts to the class. Individuals who do not yet have a JUSTICE FOR ALIZA t-shirt are asked to arrive at 11:50 a.m. to obtain a t-shirt.
Aliza Sherman firmly believed that all women have the right to feel safe and know how to protect themselves; therefore there will be no charge for this event.
