Investigators can't find Jimmy Hoffa's body but we all know where to find Cuyahoga County's Jimmy Dimora.

According to his records, Dimora celebrates his 58th birthday Friday, which is also the first day of summer -- the summer solstice, the longest day of the year.

Dimora will be spending his second birthday in a row in federal prison as he appeals his conviction on bribery, racketeering and corruption charges.

After living and dining well as the county's most visible and convivial commissioner for years, while also serving as the county's Democratic Party chairman, prison fare on Friday will likely be oatmeal for breakfast, fruits and vegetables and a sandwich for lunch, and a sandwich for dinner.

Quite a change from the steaks at Delmonico's in Independence or fine dining at the Las Vegas steakhouse during an infamous trip there in 2008. And as far as beverages? No Crown Royal whiskey for the former commissioner, only soft drinks, juice or water.

He can visit the prison commissary for candy, cookies and other sweets but he's likely on a diet to try and bring his weight under control. On the day of his arrest, he weighed in at about 360 pounds on his six-foot frame.

He also has a host of medical problems, not the least of which is phlebitis, which made walking even during his trial difficult.

If his appeal fails, Dimora will likely spend the next 27 birthdays in prison, emerging at the age of 85.

Dimora was taken into federal custody on March 9, 2012, just minutes after he was found guilty on 33 counts. From then until Feb. 5, 2013, Dimora was housed in the minimum security federal facility outside Youngstown.

Since then he's been in FCI Gilmer, in Glenville, West Virginia. It has one of the top medical facilities in the prison system so he is likely well-cared for, just not in the way he had become accustomed to.

And if he looked out his window or strolled through the prison yard on Thursday, he might have seen fireworks in the sky, as the state of West Virginia celebrated its 150th birthday Thursday.

While federal authorities again searched for Hoffa's body, the Jimmy best-known in Northeast Ohio needs no one to look for him.

James Riddle Hoffa was 62 when he was last seen outside the Machus Red Fox restaurant in Detroit on July 30, 1975, made a phone call, and vanished. The former Teamsters boss just vanished into thin air.

As you celebrate the summer solstice, maybe with a bonfire outside in the warm summer night in Northeast Ohio, savor your freedom.

Life is a gift and no one lives forever. Don't waste another day not enjoying it with the one or ones you love.
