MEDINA -- The state auditor will review a fund used to pay more than $265,000 for Medina school superintendent's college education expenses.
The Medina Gazette reports the Medina school board sought the review from Auditor Dave Yost after questions arose about the district's fund at the Medina County Schools' Educational Service Center.
The newspaper says superintendent Randy Stepp approved payments from the account that the district board and treasurer didn't have to approve.
Coverage of his educational expenses was part of Stepp's contract, but the community has questioned other payments he directed, including travel expenses.
The city law director indicated he has talked with the county prosecutor about possible further investigation of the fund, which is maintained by a county agency.
