CLEVELAND -- Friends and loved ones packed a Cleveland Heights funeral home to pay their respects to beloved Cleveland Clinic nurse and community figure.
That's how many will remember Aliza Sherman, killed in a brutal stabbing attack in downtown Cleveland Sunday.
More than 300 people filled overflow rooms, even stood in the lobby of the Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel while her children, her brothers and a friend shared their thoughts.
Aliza Sherman's children and siblings addressed mourners with memories of a kind and giving person.
She was described as a person who put others before herself, caring for those in her Jewish congregation at Green Road Synagogue, her family, and her patients.
Cleveland police say they're still investigating the stabbing near E. 12th Street.
They've not released a suspect description or images from surveillance video of the attack, caught on tape.
Detectives say they're currently interviewing witnesses and combing the area for details.
Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact those detectives at 216-623-5464; anonymous information can also be given to Crimestoppers.
