CLEVELAND -- Police are investigating a shooting incident that left two dead in a Cleveland Hopkins Airport employee parking lot.
The shooting happened at 11:30 a.m. at Riveredge employee parking lot just north of the airport, near I-480.
Cleveland Police say a man shot and killed his wife, a TSA Agent, before killing himself. The shooter was later identified as 28-year-old Ahmad Alkahder.
The woman, 20, was riding with another TSA Agent in the employee parking lot when their car was rammed by Alkahder.
Alkahder then shot at the agent five times before attempting to shoot at the other agent. That second agent escaped without being harmed.
Alkahder then shot and killed himself. The woman was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where she died from her injuries.
TSA released this statement following the shooting:
"TSA has lost a member of its family today to a fatal shooting at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Our employee, whose name is being temporarily withheld, had worked for the TSA since 2011 as a baggage officer. She was fatally shot at the airport in what the police are calling a domestic dispute. Our thoughts and condolences go out to her family, friends and fellow employees during this painful time."
