WKYC Web StaffWARREN -- Police are actively investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another person to the hospital Sunday morning. The shooting happened near Elm Street NE and Elm Court.
It happened in an alleyway next to Cuddles Hugs and Kisses Daycare. Det. Sgt. Jeff Cole said the owner of the daycare has been notified. "She has concerns... fortunately, it's a Sunday," said Sgt. Cole.
Police say two victims were taken to the hospital after being shot near the parking lot of a day care center in downtown Warren. One of the victims has since died. The victims' identities haven't been released.
According to police, there's a possibility there may be other victims who left the scene on their own.
Two people were taken into custody for questioning in relation to the incident.
Investigators continue to canvass the scene and continue to gather information at this time.
The day care center was closed at the time of the shooting.
