CLEVELAND -- To top off your Turkey Day and leave some cash left over for Black Friday, you've got to shop around.
As Channel 3 News found, you likely won't find the best deals all in one place.
We made calls and scanned the ads for five well-known grocery chains in our area: Dave's Supermarkets, Giant Eagle, Heinen's, Marc's and WalMart.
"I go to Aldi's first and get all the cheaper stuff and then get the better quality stuff at Giant Eagle," said Danielle Satorious.
For the cheapest bird, look for a frozen turkey around $0.79 per pound. You can find this price at WalMart, Marc's, or Giant Eagle. Some Dave's offer turkeys at $0.69 per pound with an additional purchase.
If you want to splurge on fresh, free-range or organic, the turkey is where to spend.
For side dishes, WalMart's a clear winner at a sale price of $2.47 for a ten-pound bag of potatoes.
Stuffing depends on what brand you are looking for, fresh or bagged, or already prepared. The absolute best price we could find was WalMart at 98 cents a box.
For some, time is the priority.
"I have a menu in mind of what I want to serve, and I just, I look for the most convenient, not necessarily the cheapest," said Michelle Ricciarelli.
"Ready-made pie, ready-made lot of stuff," said Ricciarelli, with a laugh.
What about pumpkin pie? WalMart wins here as well, at $2.98 for an 8" pie.
Of course, quality, convenience and coupons may affect where you shop and what price you'll pay.
When in doubt, choose store brands over name brands, and frozen, canned or dried items over fresh.
That will save you money even when the leftovers are gone.
