SALEM -- Police say the man involved in the hit-skip death of a 9-year-old girl has turned himself in.
Olivia Thompson was hit by a vehicle after crossing the street on the 500 Block of E. State Street near South Lundy Avenue.
Thompson was taken to Salem Community Hospital where she was flown by Life Flight to Akron's Children's Hospital where she later died at 5:45 a.m. Saturday morning.
Police found the small black pick-up truck involved in the accident. No arrest has been made at this time.
A Columbiana County grand jury will decide if the man will be charged on Monday.
The Salem Police Department is working with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and BCI&I.
